Video Project: How to Print
Youtube Video
I recently did a video project showing instructions of how to print a document from Microsoft word. It was a lot of fun to make and I hope I can do more film projects like this one in the future.
Creatively my teammates and I clicked. We were able to agree on which jobs would suit us best and we all go the chance to be the camera man. Making key decisions was fairly easy and we all put in our input and were involved in deciding what the most efficient way to complete the project was. In the actual project I did the acting and subbed out with one of my team members when it was time for me to do the filming. I learned a lot along through the process like how much lighting can affect a video. The process of making this film was a good learning experience for me and I know now that I have room for improvement.
My project did have some flaws. First I'd make sure that my setting is clear of anyone who might distract from the main story I am trying to portray. There were so many people in the background who may have taken away from some of my shots, looking back I would have asked them to move and that would have made the end result better. I would also try and take less shots of the computer and actually focus on the printing part and me walking to the printer. I feel like this would make the video seem more complete. I would have added a title slide looking back on it to portray what the goal of the video was at the beginning. I could have put the thumbnail at the beginning of my video instead of the end to fix this flaw. Ultimately, I think these mistakes are ones I can learn from.
I liked my music selection for this project and thought it went well with the video. It had a buisness like tone but it wasn't bland so it kept your attention. I also liked how the steps were individually shown on the computer. I felt like if you had no clue how to print a document from word you could learn how to from this video. I would like to build off of the positive that I did in this video.
In conclusion, I feel overall the project was a success. The team I had made getting work done easy. I made some fixable mistakes that I can learn from. I loved how the video turned out and I want to do more projects like this in the future.
